2011 Update

Hey friends,

Hope all’s well wherever in the world you are. Lots of news to report here at Camp Cap!

1. NEW RECORD, NEW SCHWAG:

I figure since the Pitchfork review just went up, I can’t keep this cat in the bag any longer. After three years and innumerable setbacks, the second Capillary Action full-length, CAPSIZED, is finally available for pre-order exclusively through our Big Cartel page. I spared no expense with the physical version of this release so do yourself a favor and grab an old fashioned CD.

That said, if you’re extra antsy, CAPSIZED is available to stream in its entirety as well as purchase digitally NOW through Bandcamp (also available through all the standard iTunes, eMusic, Amazon channels).

We also have sexy new American Apparel shirts (see above) and a redux edition of So Embarrassing available with brand new artwork, courtesy of Texan artist Nevada Hill.

2. TOUR, NEW LINE-UP:

In support of CAPSIZED we’re hitting the road for most of the year, beginning March 31st.

Along for the ride this time…

Julian Chin, of Chicago, Illinois, on accordion and cigarettes.

John DeHaven, of Madison, Wisconsin, on trumpet and calf-raises.

Colin Hacklander, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on drums and PMA (positive mental attitude).

Mike Harrist, of Boston, Massachusetts, on double bass and goattee.

Our tour features a veritable smorgasbord of amazing bands: LIGHTNING BOLT, WOLF EYES, JUKEBOX THE GHOST, DENGUE FEVER, 31KNOTS, O’DEATH, UPSILON ACRUX, NISENNENMONDAI, GROUP DOUEH, CHARLES HAYWARD (THIS HEAT), and many many more.

We’re also scheduled to appear at this year’s Primavera Sound in Barcelona and the Rumor Festival in Utrecht. Pinch me?

On this first spring round, we’re hitting most of the civilized parts of the US, parts of Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, France, Spain, and the UK. Don’t fret, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia: we got you in the fall. Full tour dates HERE.

Save yourself a few bucks on shipping and pick up a copy of CAPSIZED at a show!

3. WEB PRESENCE:

After five years we finally have an official website up and running: www.capact.com. You can also find us on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Last.fm, and, for all the luddites out there, we’re still on Myspace for some reason.

See you on the road!

Love,
Jon + the dudes
